PSG would face off with the current Ligue 1 holders, Lille, on Friday evening.

Despite Lille ending PSG’s reign of dominance over the French top-flight earlier this year, they have had a torrid start to the current campaign which sees them languishing in midtable.

Lionel Messi, for his part, was taken off after just 45 minutes against PSG, reportedly due to feeling some discomfort.

Now, after failing to provide a goal contribution vs PSG, it has been revealed that Messi has matched an unwanted personal record.

As per Opta, following the Lille tie:

This is the first time since 2005/06 Lionel Messi has failed to score or assist at least one league goal by the start of November.
