Lille chief appears to deal Newcastle Sven Botman blow
The president of Ligue 1 outfit Lille has recently spoken out about Newcastle target, Sven Bottom.
Botman was linked with the Magpies during the winter window and more recent reports suggested that Newcastle will go back in for Botman this summer.

However, comments from Lille’s president suggest Newcastle may not be an option for Botman.
Speaking recently, the Lille chief stated that Botman deserves to play for a club that can win the Champions League and if there is something that allows everyone to be satisfied, they will discuss it: “Sven Botman’s a top player who deserves to play in a club that can win the Champions League.

And, with Newcastle’s Premier League status for 2021/22 not even secure yet, the North East outfit will obviously not be in the Champions League next year.
Will this impact Newcastle’s chances of signing the Dutchman? It would certainly appear so if Lille’s president gets his way.
Newcastle vs Everton
For now, Newcastle will have to rely on new centre-back Dan Burn, as well as Matt Targett and Kieran Trippier, to help turn their defensive woes around.
Newcastle’s next outing will see them face off with Everton in a Premier League clash on Tuesday.
Eddie Howe’s side head into the game 19th in the Premier League have conceded 43 in 21 league games this term.
