Lewis Hamilton Backs His Brother Nicolas Hamilton as He Endures a Tough Day in BTCC

Lewis Hamilton may have enjoyed a rather pleasing afternoon on Saturday at the Red Bull Ring, having secured himself a front-row start to the race.

However, his brother, Nicolas Hamilton wasn’t as lucky, as the Briton endured quite a tough day after qualifying on the last row for the opening race at Brands Hatch Indy of the 2021 British Touring Car Championship. Nicolas, subsequently, opened up about the poor qualifying outing on social media.

And as always, the 7-time world champion was there to back his younger brother. He shared Nicolas’s post on his Instagram story. The Mercedes driver further captioned it, “Let’s go, bro“.

What did the Nicolas Hamilton post say?

Nicolas is racing for the ROKiT Racing with iQuoto Online Trading team, which has struggled quite a lot against the others. Despite more than 2 rounds coming to an end, the team are yet to secure points this season.

Hence, considering the string of poor outings, Nicolas could not resist posting a morale-boosting post on social media. “As tough as tough gets today, starting on the back row of the grid for Race 1 tomorrow. Missing FP2 put me on the back foot for Qualifying & so I struggled in all honesty,” he wrote.

Tough times are sent to try us & so tomorrow I’ll be driving my heart out to make progress. Thank you to everyone for their support,” the Briton further added.

Can Lewis Hamilton deliver the much-needed results in Styria?

Of course, it was a tough weekend for Nicolas, but it’s not all over for the Hamiltons, with Lewis yet to race. The Briton will be starting from P2 alongside title rival, Max Verstappen.

The two drivers have been pushing themselves to their absolute limits since the very first race of this season in Bahrain. And the likelihood of such hard racing happening during the race at the Red Bull Ring on Sunday is quite high.

It all depends on which driver pops out as P1 by the end of turn 3. Beyond that, all eyes will switch to the pit wall, and the possible strategies either of the team will pull off.

Amidst so many factors that could spice up the ongoing title rivalry between Hamilton and Verstappen, who is going to secure the race win in Styria this weekend? Can Hamilton close down the gap between himself and the Dutchman on the championship table?
