Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios is in London, getting himself prepared for the Wimbledon Championships 2021. He has returned back on Tour after his stint in Melbourne earlier this season. Although he exited in the third round, he entertained fans thoroughly with his style of play.
Yesterday, the draws were out and players got to know who would be their opponents in the opening rounds. Nick Kyrgios will be facing Ugo Humbert. They met at the Australian Open earlier this season and Kyrgios got the better of him in four sets. Now, they face again and things will be different as they play on grass.
Nick Kyrgios promises to thrill fans
Nick went on to social media and posted a story that stated, “Let’s give the people what they want!!!” The message delivered by the Australian athlete was loud and clear. He wants to entertain the fans and promised to give it his all. Over the years, Kyrgios has built a connection with fans at the Championships and they look forward to welcoming him.
As the tournament was canceled last season due to the pandemic, the Australian ace wants to leave no stone unturned and put up a show for the spectators. The best players in the game will be competing in the oldest Grand Slam event after a two-year break. It was the first time since World War 2 that the event was canceled.
Coming back to Kyrgios, the Australian player made his first major breakthrough at the Wimbledon Championships. In 2014, he beat Rafael Nadal in his first Center Court appearance. He went on and reached the quarterfinals that season and to date is his best result in this competition.
The Wimbledon Championships 2021 will begin on Monday the 28th of June and will end on Sunday the 11th of July. All the top players have assembled in South West 19, London. It will be interesting to see how the Australian star and the rest of the players perform during the fortnight.
