Position top of Leeds’ list revealed
Firstly, an insight into Leeds’ priority for the winter window has been revealed.
As reported by the Mirror:
A creative midfielder is top of their list and they have not rectified this gap in their squad after Michael Cuisance’s move to Elland Road collapsed at the eleventh hour in October 2020.
But who are they targeting to fill this void? Well, the same piece from the Mirror claims Reading’s John Swift is a player Marcelo Bielsa admires and he is set to leave Reading for free in the summer when his contract expires.
Could Reading be willing to cash in on Swift for a reduced fee now, rather than lose him for nothing in six months?
Argentine striker linked
Elsewhere, reports stemming from Italy have credited the Peacocks with an interest in Hellas Verona striker, Giovanni Simeone.
The 26-year-old Argentine is having a superb 2021/22 to date, netting 12 and assisting three in 19 Serie A outings.
And, with Patrick Bamford currently Leeds’ only decent striking option, a move for Simeone would likely be a smart bit of business for the North Yorkshire outfit.
However, as Simeone is currently on loan at Verona from Cagliari, Leeds would only be able to sign the South American in the summer.
Finally, teamTALK report that Leeds United are one of several Premier League sides showing an interest in 19-year-old James Hill, who is currently plying his trade with Fleetwood Town.
The report claims that Southampton are most prominently linked, but it is suggested that Leeds like what they’ve seen from Hill, who is currently out injured.
