Leeds United looking at Liverpool’s Takumi Minamino

Leeds United looking at Liverpool’s Takumi Minamino

It appears as though Leeds United could stand to benefit from Liverpool signing Luis Diaz.

101 have already covered reports on Friday which suggest Liverpool are closing in on a move for FC Porto winger, Luis Diaz.

It has since been reported that Liverpool have pencilled in a medical for the Colombian this weekend:

So, with Liverpool looking set to sign Diaz, they now have something of a surplus of attackers.

Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah are Jurgen Klopp’s traditional front-three, whilst Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Divock Origi, Takumi Minamino and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all capable of playing across the front line.

As a result, Liverpool could potentially look to move on one or more of these players, with Minamino the man seemingly receiving the most attention right now.

It is claimed that AS Monaco are interested in the Japanese star, btu Leeds are also looking at him:

Leeds need to strengthen up front

It is not stated if a move for Minamino would be a loan or a permanent deal, but Leeds could still do with the fresh legs up top either way.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have seriously struggled for goals this term, and though not a natural striker, Minamino could provide some support for Patrick Bamford, who has had persistent injury woes this campaign.

Minamino, for his part, has scored six and assisted one in 18 across 2021/22 so far.
