Leeds United confirm appointment of Jesse Marsch as status for Leicester clash revealed

Premier League outfit Leeds United have, on Monday evening, unveiled Jesse Marsch as their new first-team head coach.

The subject of the hotseat at Elland Road had of course reemerged as a major talking point across the English football landscape over the course of the last 24 hours.

This came owing to the dismissal of long-time fan favourite Marcelo Bielsa, on the back of a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Tottenham.

Amid a tense battle against the drop to the Championship, though, the hierarchy in west Yorkshire were left with no choice but to act decisively, in appointing Bielsa’s successor on the club’s bench.

And, as alluded to above, on Monday evening, this is precisely what Victor Orta and co. have done.

In a series of posts across their social media platforms, Leeds have unveiled former RB Leipzig boss Jesse Marsch as the man to lead the club into a new, and potentially prosperous era:

‘Take Leeds to the next level’

Marsch, who has put pen to paper on a contract at Elland Road through 2025, is now awaiting international clearance to officially take up the reins.

Should as much be forthcoming over the days ahead, the American, in turn, will take his place on the touchline for Leeds’ Premier League meeting with Leicester City this weekend.

Speaking on the back of the club’s new manager being unveiled on Monday evening, Peacocks Director of Football Victor Orta had the following to say:

“We are delighted to welcome Jesse to the club and excited for him to lead us into this new chapter.

“Jesse is someone we identified a number of years ago during his time at Red Bull Salzburg and we believe his philosophy and style of football aligns with that of the club and will suit the players very well.

“We have a long-term plan and firmly believe he can take Leeds United to the next level and are excited for what the future holds.”
