Leeds knocked back in late move for Liverpool attacker

Leeds United have seen efforts to strike a deal for Liverpool star Takumi Minamino knocked back, it has been confirmed.

The info comes courtesy of Carl Markham of The Independent, who reveals that, this week, both the Peacocks and Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco made contact with the board at Anfield, to make their interest known.

Both approaches, however, were rejected out of hand, with Liverpool of course currently being forced to deal with the AFCON-based absences of both Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

Minamino is not the only member of Jurgen Klopp’s attacking ranks attracting outside interest ahead of next week’s winter transfer deadline, though.

This comes with Divock Origi’s situation being monitored by Serie A high-flyers Atalanta, amid persistent efforts on the part of Newcastle United to land Duvan Zapata.

Summerville latest

Turning attentions back towards ongoings at Leeds, it has been confirmed that the Yorkshire outfit are indeed assessing the possibility of bringing in fresh blood up top this month.

Gifted young wide-man Crysencio Summerville is understood to be the subject of loan interest from a number of clubs across England, with the Whites, in turn, having been forced to ‘assess their options’.

As things stand, however, Marcelo Bielsa remains keen to keep hold of Summerville for the 2nd half of the campaign, hinting at more regular first-team opportunities for the Dutchman in the near future:
