Launch of OpenAI’s ChatGPT Plus Subscription in India

ChatGPT Plus, the subscription service to access OpenAI’s text-generating AI, is now available in India. ChatGPT Plus includes GPT-4, the refined AI model launched by OpenAI earlier this week.
The paid tier gives customers early access to new features including GPT-4. Introduced in the US in February after being in preview for a few weeks, ChatGPT Plus is available for a $20 monthly subscription. A subscription allows a customer to use ChatGPT even during peak hours, get faster responses and priority access to new features and improvements.
OpenAI also continues to offer a free version of ChatGPT – albeit with some restrictions – on its website. If you don’t want to pay for access, you can still enjoy the ChatGPT experience through the Bing search engine.
OpenAI initially had a waiting list for users to access ChatGPT Plus. However, shortly after its release, the startup made the subscription service available to all users. The service aims to help OpenAI monetize ChatGPT, which has gone viral and gained popularity for its AI-powered conversational experience in recent months.
Naturally, ChatGPT has also been plagued with some controversy and bans due to its nature and the sophistication of its human-like responses which can be misleading. Its advanced text-to-text chat capabilities have certainly won over the masses and even lured Microsoft, the first OpenAI investor, to embed the experience into its services. Competitors such as Baidu and Google have also started building similar conversational AI experiences.
