Lando Norris is as Fast as Max Verstappen or Lewis Hamilton: McLaren F1 Boss
Lando Norris has certainly hit the ground running this season. The young Brit has managed to have points finish in every race so far this season, and managed to get two podiums. One at the Emilia GP, and the other at the prestigious Monaco Grand Prix, finishing third in both.
Hence, McLaren CEO, Zak Brown feels that the 21-year-old is as good as anyone on the grid. Brown hopes that Norris can continue this string of performances and take the Woking-based outfit to the next leave.
Brown feels that Lando Norris has the pace to beat anyone on the grid
As quoted from Motorsport.com, being asked about how Daniel Ricciardo is fitting into the team. Brown said, “He’s got a teammate who I think is as fast as anyone on the grid. So he’s got a great bar to race against.”
He further praised the 21-year-old by stating, “Lando has matured really well, he came in as a rookie, and already drove really mature.”
“If you look at some of the other rookies that came in, they had a lot of accidents. While they showed speed, they got over the limit one too many times. Lando really hasn’t. He’s shown great pace and maturity from the word go.”
“Then what we asked him to do last year and this year is to actually be a little bit more on the limit, to almost encourage, it’s OK if you go off every once in a while. And what we’ve seen is he’s sped up, even more, gotten his elbows out, but he’s still keeping the car on the track, which is great,” Brown concluded.

Now he prepares himself for the Styrian Grand Prix for the upcoming weekend. Norris earned his first-ever podium in Formula One when he raced there last season and finished third. Hence, he is hoping to achieve a similar result, if not a better one this time around.
