Kaka reacts to AC Milan’s derby triumph as Olivier Giroud makes history
AC Milan legend Kaka has taken to social media to provide his reaction to the club’s derby triumph on Saturday night.
For those not aware, the latest edition of one of world football’s fiercest rivalries was played out at the San Siro a short time ago.
The clash in question saw AC Milan and Inter Milan go had to head for city supremacy, in a crucial fixture amid the battle for the 2021/22 Serie A title.
And, when all was said and done, it was the former who emerged triumphant, to close the gap on Simone Inzaghi’s table-topping Nerazzurri to just a solitary point.
Inter actually opened the scoring on the day, when a deep corner to the back post was volleyed home by Ivan Perisic in clinical fashion:
Inter lead the Milan Derby! 🔵⚫️
That is such a calm finish from Ivan Perišić on the volley 😮💨

Despite the dominance of the Scudetto favourites, though, Milan managed to keep themselves very much in proceedings, largely owing to the brilliance of Mike Maignan between the sticks.
And this proved precisely the platform needed for Olivier Giroud to turn the action at the San Siro on its head late on.
After levelling things up courtesy of an instinctive sliding finish at the back post fifteen minutes from time, the turnaround was complete just three minutes later, as a sumptuous turn and strike on the part of the Frenchman proved too much for Samir Handanovic, guiding Milan to all three points, and derby bragging rights:
Step up, Olivier Giroud! ❤️🖤

Not only that, but Giroud also managed to etch his name indellibly into the history books of the Derby della Madonnina, in becoming the first Frenchman to ever find the net twice in a Serie A meeting with Inter:
2 – Olivier Giroud is the first French player ever to have scored 2+ goals in a #SerieA match against Inter. Fearless.#InterMilan

‘Sempre’
One man who evidently enjoyed the chaotic nature of Milan’s eventual victory on Saturday, meanwhile, was Kaka.
Ex-Brazilian international Kaka is of course viewed as something of an icon on the Rossoneri half of the Milan divide, owing to his scintillating exploits from 2003 to 2009.
The 39-year-old, in turn, quickly took to social media on the back of the full-time whistle at the San Siro this evening, to post a simple message in celebration of his former side’s 3-point haul:
‘Sempre Milan’, or, in English, Milan always:
Sempre Milan ❤️🖤
