Juventus headquarters raided as Serie A giants under scrutiny over dodgy transfers

Juventus struggle on and off the pitch

It has been a tough season for Juventus to date.

They currently sit in 8th place in Serie A, 11 points behind both Milan sides that lead the way. Worse yet, they sit outside of European qualification, and look likely to make it two seasons without a title for the Old Lady.

Without Cristiano Ronaldo, the goals have been hard to come by, scoring just 15 in 13 games since the Portuguese star left for Manchester United in the dying embers of the summer transfer window.

It is not going much better in Europe either, with the club having qualified for the knockout stages as expected, but having been on the receiving end of a 4-0 hammering in midweek against European Champions Chelsea.

Should they continue to struggle across both competitions, it could be a short return for current manager Max Allegri, while they are set to struggle off the pitch too.

Juve HQ raided

Now, as per Goal.com, the Turin outfit have had their headquarters raided by officials. Indeed, the report confirms that the club are “under investigation for false accounting”, involving transfer and agent fees between 2019 and 2021.

These include the deal that saw Miralem Pjanic and Arthur effectively swapped between Barcelona and Juventus, as well as the deal that saw Joao Cancelo join Manchester City and Danilo head the other way.

It could make his way to England as well, with Gazetto Della Sport revealing:

Juventus President Andrea Agnelli, Vice-President Pavel Nedved and former sporting director Fabio Paratici, now at Tottenham Hotspur, are under investigation for false accounting and movement of €50m in the capital gains case.
