Liverpool vs Athletic Bilbao

Liverpool are facing off with Spanish outfit Athletic Bilbao on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds fielded a very strong starting line-up for the clash, which included the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Alisson.

Virgil van Dijk was also in from the off, starting his first game at Anfield since his injury back in October.

Two noticeable absentees on Sunday, however, came in the form of Jordan Henderson and Thiago.

And with Klopp putting out such a strong eleven on Sunday, fans were perhaps concerned that said duo had some injury issues that were preventing them from playing any part against Bilboa.

However, ahead of kick-off on Sunday, Klopp has moved to calm any such fears, simply explaining that Henderson and Thiago will get minutes on Monday when Liverpool face off with Osasuna:

“Yeah, that’s the plan [for them to get minutes on Monday].

“They trained both this morning and they will have a few minutes tomorrow night for sure – or I hope, at least. They look good in training but of course their pre-season starts now pretty much so that’s a bit later than the others.

“So we have to consider that, but yeah, tomorrow we will see them.”
