Jurgen Klopp provides covid update on Liverpool squad ahead of Tottenham
Tottenham vs Liverpool
Sunday’s late Premier League kick-off will see Tottenham and Liverpool face off in north London.
Liverpool head into the game still on a fine run of form which has currently seen them lose just one game all season.
The Reds notched a perfect record in their Champions League group, with their one loss this campaign coming in the PL vs West Ham.
Elsewhere, they have won 12, drawn four, scored 45 and conceded just 12.
However, the Merseysiders are still only second in the English top-flight for the time being.
This comes with Manchester City one point ahead of the Reds after the same number of games played.
As a result, Liverpool needed a win this weekend to ensure they can keep pace with the current league leaders and also ensure that 3rd place Chelsea do not catch up to them.
Jurgen Klopp on Liverpool’s Covid-19 situation
Ahead of the Tottenham tie, Jurgen Klopp spoke to the media on Friday afternoon.
When doing so, the German spoke about Covid-19. Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Curtis Jones all missed out for Liverpool vs Southampton earlier this week after testing positive for the virus.
Now, on Friday, Klopp has provided a fresh covid update on his side, stating that no-one else is positive yet, whilst the above trio are still awaiting their PCR results:
“It’s not confirmed yet [whether they have COVID]. It’s an ongoing process [awaiting the results of PCR]. They are fine apart from that. In this moment, nobody else positive. The players come later. We will see.”
