Jio has launched its True 5G services in Andhra Pradesh with service launch in Tirumala, Visakhapatnam, Vijaywada and Guntur. Andhra Pradesh Minister of Information and Technology Gudivada Amarnath and Chief Secretary KS Jawahar Reddy launched Jio True 5G and Jio True 5G Powered Wi-Fi services at an event here on Monday.

A statement from the company said Jio demonstrated the immersive benefits of 5G in healthcare, through the Jio Community Clinic medical kit and the revolutionary AR-VR device, Jio Glass.

“These benefits will bring phenomenal changes in the lives of the people of Andhra Pradesh,” he said.

Gudivada Amarnath, who is also Andhra’s Minister of Industry and Commerce and Infrastructure and Investment, said 5G services will bring transformational benefits to the people of the state.

“I am pleased to launch Jio’s True 5G services in Andhra Pradesh. 5G services, in the long term, will bring transformational benefits to the people of Andhra Pradesh,” he said.

The minister said Jio 5G services will be available statewide by the end of next year.

“Besides their existing investment of Rs. 26,000 crore, Jio has also invested more than Rs. 6,500 crore for the deployment of a 5G network in Andhra Pradesh, which shows their immense commitment to the development of our state. By December 2023, Jio True 5G services will be made available in every town, taluka, mandalam and village in Andhra Pradesh,” he added.

Chief Secretary KS Jawahar Reddy said the new service will open doors for growth opportunities in several areas including e-governance, education and healthcare.

“With the launch of Jio’s True 5G services, Andhra Pradesh is not only getting the best telecom network but will open doors for growth opportunities in e-governance, education, healthcare, IT and SMEs,” he said.

“Jio True 5G will also keep citizens and government connected in real time and also improve the delivery and efficiency of government programs to the last user. start-up ecosystem, and the advent of Jio’s True 5G services will give a huge boost to start-ups working on new technologies such as IoT, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Learning automatic and data analysis.-ups in Andhra Pradesh and give them wings to fly,” he added.

A Jio spokesperson said the True 5G network will expand across the state in a short period of time.

“We are excited to launch Jio True 5G in Andhra Pradesh. The Jio True 5G network will span the entire length and breadth of the state in a short period of time. Jio engineers are working 24 hours on 24 to bring the benefits of True 5G to every Indian so that the transformative power and exponential benefits of this technology can be felt by every citizen of our great country.”

The spokesperson expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister of the State, Jagan Mohan Reddy Garu, and the State Government “for extending their support for the digitization of Andhra Pradesh”.

Helping to release that from December 26, Jio users in Tirumala, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Guntur will be invited to Jio Welcome offer through which they can enjoy unlimited data at speeds of up to 1 Gbps+, at no additional cost.

More cities in the state will be 5G ready by January 2023, he said.
