Reliance Jio is bringing 5G connectivity to India, and we’ve been hearing rumors of an in-house smartphone enabled for the next-gen network over the past few months.

Today, a device with model number LS1654QB5 passed through Geekbench, and we expect it to be the first 5G Jio Phone. The chipset is Snapdragon 480+, an 8nm platform launched in October 2021.

This is the second time we’ve heard of such a phone with a Snapdragon 480 chipset. The first rumor suggested 4GB of RAM and Android 11, although we can see on Geekbench that Jio is going a step further and will bring Android 12 to this device.

Jio worked with Google to create Pragati OS – a custom Android for JioPhone Next, and we may or may not see the same user interface in the next device. If we can trust the previous rumor, we can expect a 6.5-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution, a 13MP triple camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging via a USB-C port.
