Iyanya Postpones London Show To Mourn Davido’s Son, Ifeanyi’s Death
‘Call’ crooner Iyanya has postponed his planned London concert to grieve the death of Ifeanyi Adeleke, the son of Afrobeats superstar Davido.
On Monday, it was reported that three-year-old Ifeanyi drowned in the swimming pool at his parents’ home in Lagos, Nigeria.
This devastating news has temporarily halted significant operations in the country’s music industry, and Davido’s colleagues have stepped forward to soothe and support him in many capacities.
Iyanya, Davido’s colleague and friend, has declared that his London gig, which had been scheduled for November 6, 2022, will not take place owing to the heartbreaking loss of Ifeanyi.
The ‘Kukere’ master, on the other hand, revealed November 22 as the new date for the event.
Read his press statement below;
“In light of the tragic event that took place earlier this week, which hit very close to home, I have taken the painful decision to push My London Show scheduled for the 6th of November 2022 to the 22nd of November 2022, All tickets purchased will be valid for the new date.
“I can’t wait to party with you and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but It doesn’t feel right to celebrate while so many of my close friends are in pain.
“I hope you understand the weight of this tough decision. See you soon London.”
