Veteran Nollywood actor, John Ikechukwu Okafor, widely known as Mr. Ibu has publicly come out to trash rumors of him asking for donations to sort out his medical bills while he receives treatment at the hospital.

According to him, his bank account and social media account has been hacked by some unknown persons who are now soliciting funds from his fans and well-wishers, but he has not asked anyone to collect donations on his behalf.
Mr. Ibu who is currently at the Kidney Center in Abuja also said that anyone who wishes to donate to him willingly or do any kind gesture for him can reach out to him personally or his wife for the necessary details.
The actor also stated that he is recovering from his illness and doing great by the grace of God, hence rumors also circulating that he cannot speak or walk should not be regarded.
He said that his condition is not as critical as being speculated on social media, hence such information must be disregarded and treated as false publications, adding that he will let the world know when he plans to depart from the land of the living.
His wife, Mr. Stella Maris Okafor also begged whoever has hacked her husband’s account just to appeal for funds from his fans should desist from that with immediate effect. The account officer in charge of his bank account has been asked to reach out to the actor immediately in order for the situation to be curbed as soon as possible.
