It’s official: Realme C55 with Apple’s Dynamic Island-like mini pod is coming March 7

The Realme C55 which recently surfaced online will launch on March 7. This revelation comes from the Indonesian subsidiary of Realme, which has set up a promotional page on its official website revealing the launch date and sale date of the C55 (March 8) in the Asian country.
The Realme C55 is also listed on the Realme Indonesia online store. It does not reveal the price of the C55 but confirms the specifications and design of the smartphone. The Realme C55 will be powered by the Helio G88 SoC and will run Realme UI 4.0 based on Android 13 out of the box. It will have two memory configurations – 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB. The former will support virtual RAM expansion up to 6GB and the latter up to 8GB. Both models will have a slot for dedicated microSD card for storage expansion up to 1TB.
The Realme C55 will pack a 6.72-inch FullHD+ 90Hz display with a peak brightness of 680 nits and a punch-hole in the center for the 8MP selfie camera. But, more interestingly, the smartphone will come with Apple’s Dynamic Island-like configuration, called Mini Capsule. It will show low battery alerts, phone charging status, data usage, step count and walking distance for the day. The last two will not be available immediately and will arrive later via an OTA.
On the back, the Realme C55 will sport a dual-camera setup with a 64MP camera. And under the hood, it’ll have a 5,000mAh battery with 33W charging – an upgrade over the C35’s 18W charging and a first for a C-series smartphone. We’re unlikely to see any Realme’s C-series smartphone will charge slower than 33W in 2023 since the company recently announced that most Realme smartphones this year will support 33W or faster charging.
The rest of the Realme C55’s highlights include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, USB-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It will also have an NFC chip on board and come with Dirac’s audio tuning. The C55 will be 7.89mm thick and have two color options – Rainy Night and Sunshower.
