Iron Man Game: EA is reportedly developing a single-player title based on the Marvel superhero
The Iron Man single-player video game is rumored to be in the works. Electronic Arts is currently working on several single-player entries, one of which is said to be based on Marvel’s armored superhero. During a Game Mess stream, journalist Jeff Grubb said the publisher was “making another Marvel game,” in addition to the highly anticipated Mass Effect game and a single-player shooter. The news comes just a week after a Black Panther title was reportedly in development at EA.
Although Grubb never mentioned which Marvel character the next EA title was based on, XFire reporter Tom Henderson claims it is Iron Man. “I’ve heard a few rumors that it’s about Iron Man, but I’ve never had anything concrete to fully report,” he said on Twitter, strongly insisting on placing his report in the category “rumor”. As a notorious backer, Henderson has earned a solid reputation, even leaking FIFA 23’s cross-play and women’s league features earlier this year.
I’ve heard a few rumors that it’s Iron Man, but I’ve never had anything concrete to fully report.
Put this strongly in the “rumor” category for now and if I hear/see more concrete information, I’ll report it properly. I just thought it was worth mentioning. https://t.co/MF3ddG04yR

Currently, there is no word on plot details or mechanics. However, given the latest games on the market, one would expect an open-world system, given Iron Man’s ability to fly across vast landscapes using his boosters. The Black Panther The game, on the other hand, is also said to be an open-world entry, developed by a new Seattle-based studio. Project Rainier, as it’s known internally, is led by former Monolith VP Kevin Stephens, who previously worked on Middle-earth titles Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War.
The Black Panther game is currently said to be in early development, with the premise being established after Black Panther died at the start of the game. Players will be tasked with completing a set of challenges or trials, in hopes of becoming the new Wakandan leader. This could very well be an origin story, as we play through the life of T’Challa as he avenges his father’s death at the hands of Vibranium-obsessed villain Ulysses Klaw (played by Andy Serkis in the first Black Panther film).
If things go as planned, this would mark the third video game appearance for Iron Man, following 2020’s Iron Man VR and Marvel’s Avengers games. NFT – and received mixed reception when it launched, thanks to performance issues and bland gameplay.
EA’s Iron Man game, while still unconfirmed, is set to release on all major platforms – PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and Windows PC.
