The Moto G53 launched in China in December with a Snapdragon 480+ chipset and dual cameras. Today we spotted the device in packaging clearly aimed at the international market, revealing that the new midranger is likely to go global soon.

The G53 appeared in live photos with the model number XT2335-2 with a blue back and 4/128 GB memory. Apparently this exact version is for the European market with dual SIM capabilities and an eSIM slot, which could be a first for a Motorola G smartphone.

We expect the smartphone to be exactly the same as the Chinese version with its 50 MP main camera and 5,000 mAh battery with only 10 W charging. Other specifications include a 6-inch LCD screen, 5-inch with 720p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, in-key fingerprint scanner and USB-C power.

There are several questions about the features of the Chinese version and if they will make it to the global version – will there be NFC, is 4/128 GB the only memory option, and will we see Android 13 ready to use? Most important, of course, is the price.

Motorola sells the 8/128 GB version for CNY 1,099, or around €150. With pricing and taxes, we expect the 4/128GB version to be similarly priced in Europe, while the possible option with more RAM will hit the €200 mark.
