Injury update on Armando Broja ahead of Southampton vs Aston Villa
Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has, on Thursday, provided a fitness update on key hitman Armando Broja.
Broja blow
The Saints are of course set to return to action in a little over 24 hours’ time.
In the first of the weekend’s Premier League fixtures, Hasenhuttl and co. will welcome Aston Villa to St. Mary’s, aiming to build on a solid recent stretch of form.
On the back of an altogether shaky opening to the campaign, Southampton have since bounced back courtesy of two wins and a draw from their last three league outings, climbing to 14th in the English top-flight table in the process.
Key to their upturn, meanwhile, has been the exploits of Chelsea loanee Armando Broja.
After opening his account in Saints colours with the only goal in a 1-0 downing of Leeds United, gifted young striker Broja followed up with his 2nd in two games versus Burnley.
“I’ve dreamed of this since I was three-years-old.” 🥺
First start, first goal, and gets clattered in the process.

In turn, it marked an untimely blow for all associated with Southampton when, post-Burnley, it was confirmed that Broja had picked up an ankle problem, which has since kept him out of the club’s last two outings.
‘He’s back’
As outlined above, though, on Thursday, an update on the wellbeing of the 20-year-old has been provided.
And the news will no doubt be met with widespread glee on the part of the Saints faithful.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of his side’s fast approaching meeting with Villa, Ralph Hasenhuttl confirmed a short time ago that Broja has recovered full fitness, and is therefore available for selection on Friday night:
