Ronaldo signs for Man United
Manchester United would of course sign Cristiano Ronaldo in the final week of the summer transfer window.

Ronaldo did not link up with Man United straight away though, as he would instead head off on international duty with Portugal.
And the forward would make history in Portugal’s first game of the break, netting a brace vs the Republic of Ireland to become the highest-scoring player in international football history.
However, Ronaldo would also receive a yellow card in that game, which meant he missed Portugal’s second qualifier of the break vs Azerbaijan.
This would lead to Portugal agreeing to release him early to allow him to travel to England and isolate ahead of United’s clash with Newcastle this weekend.

The 36-year-old would undergo a five-day isolation period and was thought to be set to join in United training on Wednesday.
However, as confirmed by Man United, the Portuguese would actually turn up at Carrington on Tuesday.
The Red Devils would confirm that Ronaldo met with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the manager’s office before being introduced to the players and then joined the training session with his colleagues:
