Huawei launches Watch Buds, Kids Watch 5X and Watch GT 3 Pro Collector’s Edition smartwatches

Huawei showed off several new smartwatches at its China event earlier today and we have the details on all four new wearables.

Huawei Watch Earbuds is a 2-in-1 device that works like your regular smartwatch but with a screen that opens to reveal a pair of TWS headphones. The watch brings a 1.43 inch AMOLED display with 466x466px resolution. The case is stainless steel while the leather strap measures 22mm and is available in black and brown.

Rounding out the smartwatch bit – it supports heart rate monitoring, SpO2 tracking, sleep and stress management as well as heart rate atrial fibrillation screening and ECG readings. You also get 80 workout modes. The headphones offer AI noise cancellation for calls and music listening. Watch Buds weigh 66.5 grams without the strap while the headphones weigh 4 grams each. The buds are IP54 rated while the watch does not have official ingress protection due to its opening mechanism. BeiDou, GLONASS and GPS positioning are also on board.

Watch Buds run HarmonyOS 3 and pair via Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. Huawei claims the watch and its buds have a combined battery life of 3 days. The wireless headphones offer 4 hours of music playback or 2.5 hours of talk time with noise cancellation turned off. A full charge via the proprietary magnetic charger should take 100 minutes.

Huawei Watch Buds are priced at CNY 2,988 ($429) and are already on sale in China. No word on worldwide availability at this time.

Huawei 5X and 5X Pro Kids Watch are Huawei’s latest kids’ watches and they offer 1.6-inch AMOLED displays with 360 x 320 pixel resolutions and dual cameras in a tricked-out plastic shell. There is a 5MP front camera and an 8MP rear module and both watches can be rotated 360 degrees and even completely removed from the watch strap. The Pro model has the added benefit of a secondary monochrome display on the rear which can be used to save power and is also less distracting than the primary.

Huawei 5X and 5X Pro Kids Watch

There is cellular connectivity with a physical nano-SIM slot as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity. Both watches pack 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. Kids Watch 5X measures 56.3mm × 43.58mm × 14.45mm while the Pro model is a bit thicker at 14.9mm and weighs 78.7 grams. Both Kids Watch 5X models are IPX8 rated.

Huawei Watch Kids 5X Pro costs CNY 1,989 ($286) and comes in purple and black while the Kids 5X model will retail for CNY 1,598 ($230) and comes in pink and blue.

Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro Collector’s Edition is the fourth smartwatch announced today. As the name suggests, this is a limited edition of the standard Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro with a black nanocrystalline ceramic case with gold accents. The watch comes in a one size fits all 43mm and brings exclusive dials for the New Year of the Rabbits.
