How to watch Pokémon Presents live: Pokémon Day 2023

The next Pokémon presentation takes place today and will contain plenty of news for fans around the world, letting us know what’s to come in the world of adorable pocket monsters.

When are the next Pokémon Presents?

The next Pokémon Presents will take place on monday 27 februaryat 2:00 p.m. UK time (GMT). Here are the departure times for the other locations:

• US West Coast: 6:00 a.m. PT
• US East Coast: 9 a.m. ET
• Central Europe: 3:00 p.m. CET

As tradition dictates, Pokémon Presents take place on the anniversary of the original Pokémon games, Red and Blue, released on February 27, 1996.

It just so happens to be 27 years on the 27th of the month and the firm has promised fans 20 minutes of Pokémon news as it invites everyone to “Celebrate Pokémon Together”.

It’s unclear what will be announced, so you’ll have to tune in to find out. Last year we had the announcement of Scarlet and Violet, so anything that big is unlikely, but there might just be some patch and DLC news.

We could also see Red, Blue (and Yellow) being added to Nintendo Switch Online with Pokémon Stadium as another possibility.

Along with many other parts of the Pokémon world, there could be news on Pokémon GO, Pokémon Unite, Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), and much more, including merch.

What is Nintendo Direct?

Nintendo Direct is the legendary Japanese games company’s way of communicating with the press and fans. This is especially for making news announcements for upcoming games.

Announcements can vary, from new gameplay features to new accessory reveals and even release date announcements. Previously, Nintendo used its Direct presentations to unveil the Nintendo Switch, along with several of its top Nintendo Switch games.

Sometimes there will be a dedicated Pokémon Presents stream, particularly for the franchise, or particular games like Smash Bros and Animal Crossing.
