There’s a reason we sleep about a third of our lives sleep allows our body and mind to recuperate, and lack of it reduces our ability to perform well and think clearly. Yet for many, sleeping well is a challenge that has only gotten worse in recent years. That’s why Samsung is putting sleep first by recognizing that quality sleep is fundamental to our holistic health and drawing attention to the importance of healthy sleep habits around the world.

Samsung wants to help people optimize their nights as they do their days with innovative technologies like the Galaxy Watch5 series. As sleep monitoring becomes a health trend, already around 50% of Galaxy Watch users track their sleep habits at least once a week, with 40% doing so more than three times a week.1 It helps to build good habits because once you understand your sleep patterns better, it becomes easier to improve and maintain them, leading to a healthier night’s sleep.

To celebrate World Sleep Day on March 17, as well as Sleep Week® by the National Sleep Foundation, Samsung shares helpful tips for getting a good night’s sleep.2

Understand your sleep pattern to develop better habits

As everyone’s sleep pattern is different, it’s important to know what’s unique about you, and Samsung has made tracking and understanding just as easy. Take the BioActive sensor from Galaxy Watch. It monitors your unique sleep patterns whether you are awake, when you reach deep sleep and your blood oxygen level, for example and presents the results to you the next morning in the Samsung Health app in a user-friendly and easy-to-understand way.

But monitoring alone is not enough Establishing good habits is just as important, and Samsung makes it easy with Sleep Coaching. It uses a personalized month-long program that tracks your sleep pattern over seven days, then assigns one of eight sleep animal symbols to represent it. Sleep coaching then puts you on the path to establishing healthy habits and routines to help you get a good night’s sleep more consistently. It keeps track of your daily activities and then gives tips and advice on how to better manage them, from exercise and nutrition to mindfulness and health tracking.

Create an environment conducive to sleep

Even our sleep environment is important, and seemingly small things like screen light or ambient temperature can impact our sleep. Reduce distractions from your mobile devices by automatically syncing sleep mode between your Galaxy smartphone and watch to turn off notifications and change the phone background to grayscale. It also disables Always On Display and ensures that your Galaxy Watch won’t activate when you touch the screen or move your wrist.

And when it comes to connected home devices, SmartThings lets you control a wide range of smart home products made by Samsung and its partners. Galaxy Watch can also track when you fall asleep each night and automatically close bedroom blinds or turn off lights and air conditioner.

With a better understanding of your sleep patterns, you can set positive habits to get better sleep and positively impact your overall well-being. Samsung is committed to continuing to enhance our unique health experiences with sleep-centric solutions. Ongoing strategic partnerships with industry leaders, including the National Sleep Foundation, will continue to realize Samsung’s holistic vision of sleep, delivering even more intuitive and actionable insights to help everyone achieve their wellness goals. .
