How Man United’s fans paid tribute to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during Arsenal clash

The Manchester United faithful in attendance at the club’s meeting with Arsenal this evening have made use of the occasion to pay tribute to former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Red Devils are of course currently locked in action.

In their latest Premier League outing, the Manchester giants have welcomed the aforementioned Arsenal to Old Trafford, hopeful of building on a timely upturn in form over the course of the last week.

As things stand early in the action at the Theatre of Dreams, though, it is in fact Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal who boast the advantage.

This comes after an altogether bizarre sequence, which saw David de Gea left grounded by teammate Fred, ultimately culminated in Emile Smith Rowe lashing home a wonderful left-footed effort from the edge of the area:

‘You are my Solskjaer’

As alluded to above, though, ahead of what has thus far proven an entertaining night of action in Manchester getting underway, it was not the name of the incoming Ralf Rangnick, in attendance at Old Trafford on Thursday, which in fact took centre stage amongst the home support in attendance at the clash.

Instead, this honour was reserved for Rangnick’s predecessor, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

In a wonderful gesture on the part of the Manchester United faithful, a banner was unveiled as a tribute to the club’s now-former boss, to thank Solskjaer for all that he has done for the club.

Not only that, but chants of ‘you are my Solskjaer’ subsequently rang out around Old Trafford, too:
