How Brighton trolled Mo Salah after Anfield stalemate with Liverpool

 

A piece of social media activity on the part of the Twitter admin at Brighton & Hove Albion has gone viral over the last 24 hours.

Trossard completes the comeback

Graham Potter’s men were of course back in action on Saturday afternoon.

On the back of a stretch of five without a win across all competitions, the Seagulls made the daunting trip to Anfield, for a Premier League showdown with Liverpool.

And, when Sadio Mane added to Jordan Henderson’s early opener inside twenty five minutes, Brighton’s struggles only looked set to continue for another week.

The sea-siders, however, simply refused to accept defeat.

In turn, after Enock Mwepu’s looping effort found the far corner late in the first-half, the comeback was complete just beyond the hour-mark, when a sustained spell of pressure eventually led to Leandro Trossard slotting home the equaliser, securing a share of the spoils for Brighton in the process.

Salah dig?

And, as outlined above, one individual who evidently couldn’t contain his excitement on the back of the unlikeliest of recoveries on the red half of Merseyside was the Twitter administrator at Brighton.

Taking to the social media platform on the back of the final whistle on Saturday, the Seagulls posted a whole host of celebratory messages.

It was one in particular, though, which went on to pique attentions across not only their own fanbase, but also that of Liverpool.

This came in the form of  what has since been widely identified as a dig at Mohamed Salah, after full-back Marc Cucurella did an exceptional job of keeping the red-hot Egyptian in check over the course of the 90 minutes:
