Honor Pad V8 Pro debuts with Dimensity 8100 and 144Hz display
Along with the Honor 80 GT announcement, the company introduced its Pad V8 Pro tablet with beefy hardware under the hood. This is Honor’s high-end tablet, so it packs a serious punch.
The Honor Pad V8 Pro is built around a large 12.1-inch IPS LCD display with 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution, 10-bit color depth, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. According to Honor, this is the first tablet to offer a refresh rate of 144 Hz. Another interesting element is the IMAX Enhanced certification which would allow users to stream content conforming to the same standard. This was previously prevalent on TVs, but it looks like the feature has made its way into the tablet world as well.
For a full multimedia experience, the device also features a powerful set of eight speakers supporting DTS:X surround sound.
The fast display would also be useful in games since the device is powered by a powerful Dimensity 8100 SoC, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB options are also available.
As is usually the case with tablets, the camera setup isn’t particularly impressive, so we have a standard 13MP. Rear f/2.0 camera and a 5MP, f/2.2 front camera with fixed focus.
All this hardware is powered by a generous 10,050mAh battery with support for 35W fast wired charging. The V8 Pro comes with Android 12 and Magic UI 7.0 out of the box.
