Heung-min Son’s remarkable new manager feat revealed after netting opener in Conte regime vs Vitesse

A thoroughly impressive statistic surrounding the production of Tottenham Hotspur attacker Heung-min Son has come to the fore online this evening, amid the club’s showdown with Vitesse.

Comeback on the cards?

Spurs are of course currently locked in action.

On the back of Nuno Espirito Santo’s dismissal earlier this week, the Lilywhites welcomed Dutch outfit Vitesse to north London, for a Europa Conference League group stage clash.

The matchup marks a significant one for a whole host of reasons, as both Antonio Conte’s first in the club’s dugout, and a crucial one in Tottenham’s hopes of keeping their European campaign alive beyond the turn of the year.

And, with less than half an hour played on Thursday night, the hosts’ efforts towards the latter looked firmly on course.

After Heung-min Son opened the scoring inside the 15-minute mark, Lucas Moura’s finish was followed by a Vitesse own goal, setting Spurs on their way to what looked set to prove a comfortable three points.

The visitors, however, evidently have other ideas.

After Jacob Rasmussen’s header provided a glimmer of hope for the Eredivisie outfit, Matus Bero’s pinpoint finish five minutes before the interval ensured that a testing 2nd-half lies in wait for Antonio Conte’s new charges.

Mr. consistent

Amid an otherwise difficult-to-gauge display on the part of Spurs thus far, though, one standout performer has come in the form of Heung-min Son.

The South Korean has looked a threat throughout, causing the Vitesse backline all sorts of problems courtesy of pace, technique, and sheer directness.

And, as outlined above, in opening the scoring on the night, Son secured for himself an altogether impressive statistic.

As revealed by the reliable Opta, Spurs’ gifted wide-man has now scored the first goal under the watch of each of the club’s last three permanent managers:
