Hefty Fee & Guardiola’s preferred swap candidate: The latest on Ferran Torres’ potential Barcelona switch
A fresh insight into the ongoing negotiations between Barcelona and Manchester City over the potential transfer of Ferran Torres has been provided on Saturday.

The name of Spanish international Torres has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines over the last 24 hours.
This comes on the back of reports rapidly spreading across the attacker’s home country that La Liga giants Barcelona have set their sights firmly on a January swoop for Torres.
New boss Xavi Hernandez is known to be on the lookout for reinforcements to his frontline ahead of the opening of the winter window, owing to the enforced long-term absences of Martin Braithwaite and Sergio Aguero.

Nevertheless, it came as something of a surprise when, first, Mundo Deportivo revealed that Torres had informed Man City of his deep desire to secure a move to the Camp Nou, a prospect subsequently green-lighted by Pep Guardiola.

🤝 Pep ha accedido a dejarle salir si hay acuerdo económico entre clubs.

Not only that, but Marca soon followed up with a similar report of their own, which went as far as to suggest that the personal terms of a contract had been agreed upon between club and player.
Nico eyed
And, as outlined above, on Saturday, a fresh round of details surrounding Torres’ potential Catalunya switch have too been forthcoming.
It is now claimed that an agreement on the structure of the transfer is ‘very close’ to being found, with City prepared to allow their gifted young frontman to move on for a sum of just over 50 million euro.

Elsewhere, Matteo Moretto of Sky backs reports that a deal has indeed been found between Barca and Torres, albeit followed by the assurance that a player exchange could yet be on the cards.
Pep Guardiola is understood to be a keen admirer of youngster Nico, for one, but the midfielder actually being included in negotiations, for obvious reasons, seems altogether unlikely.
