“He Likes it a Lot”: Novak Djokovic Opens Up About Practicing Tennis With Son Stefan
Novak Djokovic is preparing for the Wimbledon Championships 2021 by playing in the Mallorca ATP event. Djokovic has partnered with Spain’s Carlos Gomez Herrera, and will be playing in the men’s doubles category. Djokovic and Carlos won their first-round game against Nikola Cacic and Tomislav Brkic. The duo won 5-7, 6-4, 13-11.
However, sources have now spotted the World No. 1 training with a different partner, ahead of his preparations for the tournament. Djokovic was seen playing with his son, Stefan Djokovic, on the grass court.
Stefan was born in 2014, and he accompanies his father for almost all his tournaments. The video shows the six-year-old playing with his father, and also training with him and warming up. According to the senior Djokovic, his son is in love with tennis, and he loves playing different sports.

Novak Djokovic and his Mallorca preparations
Novak Djokovic won his second Grand Slam title of 2021 in France when he clinched his second French Open title. He beat Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final, after trailing by two games in the beginning of the match. With this, he won his 19th Grand Slam title and will be aiming for his record-equaling 20th title at Wimbledon 2021. For now, he will aim for a good run in the Mallorca event, and prepare accordingly for the grass-court event this summer.
Novak went to Belgrade before leaving for Mallorca, as he was celebrating his French Open title, with his fans and family. The World No. 1 travels with his family for all his tours, and that includes his six-year-old son as well. This is not the first time that the young boy has joined his father in his preparations.
“Now he was very inspired to come and play on grass. For him, it was a new experience, and he likes it a lot, he likes to dive and so forth. He was watching my practice, and picking up balls and in the breaks, he was playing as well, with me, my brother, with my coach. It’s amazing, you know, that’s exactly one of the reasons, why I came here a week before Wimbledon because I wanted to spend time with my son, with my family. Once you are in London, you are in lockdown, so you cannot really move much. We are enjoying it, we are very grateful to be here,” said Djokovic during an interview.
Novak Djokovic is going to attempt a Golden Grand Slam this year, as he tries to win the Wimbledon and Tokyo Olympic games.
