HCA introduces its HCA 1.0 specification, a new industry standard established by Samsung and other HCA members to provide consumers with even more interoperable and energy-efficient connected home solutions

At CES 2023, the Home Connectivity Alliance (HCA) announced a milestone by introducing its HCA 1.0 specification for Cloud-to-Cloud (C2C) interoperability in the connected home. The launch of this new industry standard comes just one year after the organization launched at last year’s CES event.

The HCA is an organization founded by manufacturers of HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) systems, household appliances and televisions. The HCA was created with the aim of developing secure and interoperable standards for connected home ecosystems.

SmartThings supports Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled devices from a range of manufacturers, as well as first-party smart home appliances, giving consumers more convenience and options in their connected home.

HCA C2C Interoperability Demonstration Opens to Public at CES 2023 as Part of Smart Home Expo — Venetian Exhibition Center Booth #52739 — will take place from January 5 to 8 in Las Vegas. This tech demo showcases solutions from HCA member companies that leverage C2C connectivity to enable multiple applications to control multiple brands of appliances, HVAC systems, and TVs for optimized interoperability.
