HBO Max’s seven-day free trial is back

HBO Max is making a return to Amazon Prime Video Channels in the US after leaving the service in September 2021, and New subscribers can get a seven-day free trial of the service.

There hasn’t been a free trial available on HBO Max since December 2020, so it’s worth taking advantage of – especially if you’re looking to binge on something specific while cutting costs. To get the trial, click the button below, then click “learn more” to sign up.

You can watch all the shows and movies available on the streaming service, but through Amazon’s interface rather than HBO’s. However, after the trial, a subscription will still cost you $14.99 per month, just like subscribing directly to HBO Max. The ad-supported $9.99 tier doesn’t seem like an option if you’re going through Prime Video.

It’s also important to note that Amazon Channels are only available to Prime members, which costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year. However, if you haven’t subscribed to Amazon Prime yet, you can get a 30-day free trial. All billing will be done through Amazon, reducing the need for multiple streaming accounts.

Additionally, Warner confirmed to Variety that users who subscribe to HBO Max through Amazon Prime Channels will be automatically upgraded to the HBO Max/Discovery+ platform, which is slated to launch next spring. The cost of this is yet to be confirmed – although CNBC has reported that the supposed name of the new service is simply “Max”.

On HBO Max you can stream titles like House of the Dragon, The White Lotus, Euphoria, Succession and the upcoming game adaptation The Last of Us. Potter and the Lord of the Rings movies.
