Harry Kane assures he ‘never refused to train’/Confirms Spurs return date in personal statement

Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane has, on Friday evening, released a long-awaited statement, addressing his situation at the club.

Kane’s exit plea

The latest major development in the Spurs-Kane saga was of course forthcoming earlier this week.

The Englishman’s future has proven headline news across the summer to date, after Kane informed his long-time employers of his desire to move on, in search of major silverware.

Tottenham’s Premier League rivals Manchester City, in turn, have emerged as the outright front-runners for his signature, with the Sky Blues on the lookout for a replacement for Sergio Aguero.

Reports late in June even went as far as to suggest that the Etihad outfit had seen a bid of 100 million pounds rejected by Daniel Levy and co.:

This past Monday, though, Kane responded to Spurs’ unyielding stance, by taking matters into his own hands.

As confirmed by a host of reliable sources, the 28-year-old failed to report for his first scheduled pre-season training session on the back of the European Championships:

‘Will be returning’

Chatter, in turn, had since been rampant surrounding Kane’s future, amid suggestions that the hitman could simply dig his heels in, until his exit plea was granted.

But, as outlined above, on Friday evening, yet another twist in the tale has been forthcoming. This comes in the form of a statement released by none other than Kane himself.

Taking to his official social media platforms, the English international clarified that, contrary to reports, he has in fact ‘never refused to train’.

Not only that, but, in a boost for all associated with Spurs, Kane revealed his intention to link back up with Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad on Saturday, too:

‘While I won’t go into the specifics of the situation, I want to clarify that I would never, and have never, refused to train. I will be returning to the club [Spurs] tomorrow, as planned…’

The 28-year-old concluded by reaching out to the club’s fanbase, assuring that he ‘wouldn’t do anything to jeopardise’ his relationship with those who have so long idolised him:
