‘Hang your heads in shame’: Arsenal fans single two stars out for heavy criticism after Man United defeat
Supporters of Premier League outfit Arsenal have flooded to social media on Thursday evening, to aim their frustrations in the direction of two players.
Ronaldo at the double
Mikel Arteta’s men were of course back in action a short time ago.
After bouncing back from a first defeat of the campaign in impressive fashion versus Newcastle last time out, the Gunners made the trip to Old Trafford, for a Premier League showdown with Manchester United.
Arsenal headed into proceedings aware that a victory would have seen them leapfrog capital rivals West Ham into the top-4, and open up a hefty 8-point gap between themselves and their hosts on the evening.
When all was said and done, however, the north Londoners simply failed to get the job done.
An end-to-end affair, during which both sides carved out plenty of chances, ultimately played out into a 3-2 United victory.
Cristiano Ronaldo, almost inevitably, proved the star of the show, popping up with a brace to turn the clash on its head, adding to Bruno Fernandes’ effort to ensure that all three points remained in Manchester:
COOL. CALM. CRISTIANO.

Gunners slammed
The celebrations at Old Trafford, in turn, have since gotten well underway.
For visitors Arsenal, however, ahead of a long trip back to the capital, the realisation that they have now lost to all of Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United this season will no doubt hit home.
Time and time again, Arteta’s side have come up short on the biggest stage, making a concerted top-4 push look an altogether tough task over the 2nd-half of the campaign.
And, as alluded to above, amid a disappointing night for all associated with the club, those of a Gunners persuasion have opted to take their frustrations out on two of the more high-profile members of the club’s squad.
The players in question? Thomas Partey and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang…
This is one of the most frustrating games I’ve had to watch in ages. I won’t be able to handle seeing certain names on Monday. Aubameyang and Partey have let the fans down massively, not today but the whole season.

Partey and Aubameyang need to be called out for their performance today. Both of them just didn’t do enough. A winnable game bottled. A new striker is definitely needed in Jan

Tonight is really going to hurt us in the coming weeks. United and Spurs have easy fixtures and will both overtake us. Fucking awful performance, especially from Partey and Aubameyang who should be our best players.

Arteta is a bum but I’m fucking sick of Partey and Aubameyang. Our two most senior, highly paid players in the squad who rarely show up and get carried by kids every week.

Aubameyang and Partey with absolutely spineless performances.. again. Don’t want to see auba’s name on the team sheet next fixture!

Aubameyang and Partey can go in January. Just get them out and reinvest.

Martinelli, Tomiyasu, and to a certain extent Elneny were the bright spots tonight. Aubameyang and Partey were poor, and Arteta didn’t manage to set the team up to beat a soft version of Man Utd who were there for the taking. We have improved, but tonight was a step backwards.

Two steps back from Arsenal tonight. Worst performance in a long time. Aubameyang and Partey should hand their heads in shame. Arteta has work to do, and quick.

Lmao, our supposed senior players just off.
Aubameyang ❌
Partey ❌Them leave game to younger players.
We are in the trenches.
