Hammer Blow: West Ham dealt transfer blow as forward heads away from Old Trafford
West Ham want Lingard
It is no secret that West Ham would like to bring Lingard back to the London Stadium, with links having persisted all summer long. The Englishman had a great second half of the season on loan with the Hammers, scoring 9 goals and providing 6 assists in 15 appearances for David Moyes’ side.

However, as of yet, no move has materialised for the midfielder.
Andreas Pereira deals hammers a blow
Indeed, West Ham’s chances of signing their top target may have been dealt a hefty blow as fellow creative midfielder Andreas Pereira has left the Red Devils on a loan deal.
Andreas Pereira é jogador do Flamengo. Manchester United aceitou as condições e vai emprestar o jogador ao Rubro-Negro. Já começaram a trocar documentos.

As per Brazilian journalist Vene Casagrande, Pereira has headed back to native Brazil, joining Flamengo on a season-long loan. Pereira, most recently on loan at Lazio, had previously spoken of his need for regular gametime, so it is unsurprising to see him depart.
Speaking exclusively to TNT Sports, Pereira spoke of the importance of playing regularly next season, saying:
“I’m ready to play, I’m not a boy anymore. I’m a man ready to take responsibility.
“In Manchester or elsewhere, the time has come to play, to have at least an hour per game on the field, to have the confidence to play. I want to be happy, to feel important.”
While expected then, his exit leaves Manchester United with just the ageing Juan Mata and Lingard as cover for main man Bruno Fernandes, while Donny van de Beek has yet to gain the managers trust either at no.10 or no.6.
