Manchester City vs West Ham
Manchester City are set to play host to West Ham in one of several Premier League ties kicking off at 2 pm UK time on Sunday.
Manchester City head into the gameweek’s action sat 2nd in the Premier League table with 26 points.
The Sky Blues are just three points behind Chelsea at present, but given how impressive Thomas Tuchel’s side have looked of late, even without the services of a proper no.9, Man City cannot afford to drop a single point if they wish to maintain their chase and retain the Premier League title this campaign.
However, West Ham United are once again having a superb season under David Moyes and actually begin GW13 sat 4th in the Premier League and just three points off City.
The Hammers, though, do not have a great defensive record and they have just played a Europa League tie on Thursday.
The Londoners also have an awful record against Pep Guardiola. Apart from their recent penalty shootout win over the Citizens in the League Cup, West Ham have not beaten Man City in any competition since September of 2015, which is around a year before Guardiola arrived at the club.
Pep Guardiola on Foden & Grealish
Ahead of Sunday’s game, Pep Guardiola spoke to the press on Friday.
When doing so, the Spaniard would provide an update on two players, one of which was Phil Foden.
Speaking in his presser, the City boss provided the following update on Jack Grealish and Phil Foden:
“They are training individual, they are training much better. Phil much better. Not today because it’s a day off. McAtee and Palmer helped us [against PSG] Hopefully they can be back soon to help us.”
Pep was also asked to give his thoughts on Ralf Rangnick potentially becoming Manchester United boss:
“Is it confirmed? No. I had one phone call [with him]. He did an incredible job at Salzburg and Leipzig. Personally, I didn’t meet him. We will spend three hours to discuss possible candidates, when they are appointed we will talk. Right now Michael Carrick is the manager and that is my only concern [on them].”
