Graham Potter on Marc Cucurella’s availability for Brentford clash
Brighton & Hove Albion manager Graham Potter has, on Thursday, provided an update on the status of summer signing Marc Cucurella.
Brentford test on the horizon
Potter and co. will of course be back in action this weekend, in the club’s first outing on the back of the international break.
The Seagulls have enjoyed a solid opening to the campaign, notching six points from an available nine in the Premier League, as well as advancing to the 3rd round of the EFL Cup.
Their final outing ahead of the break, however, saw Brighton brought firmly back down to earth, in a 2-0 defeat at home to Everton.
As such, it goes without saying that the seasiders will be keen to return to winning ways this weekend.
Hoping to prevent them from doing precisely that? Newly-promoted Brentford, unbeaten across their own trio of Premier League fixtures to this point in the campaign.
In turn, ahead of Saturday’s capital showdown, Graham Potter was, during a press conference on Thursday, inevitably asked for a fitness update on his squad.
And the most noteworthy takeaway from the English tactician’s media exchange came in the form of an insight into the status of Marc Cucurella.
Spanish wide-man Cucurella made the move to the Amex from Getafe during the summer, for a rumoured fee of around €18 million.
The Seagulls faithful, in turn, are no doubt buzzing at the prospect of seeing their side’s latest addition line out in the club’s colours for the first time.
And, if the latest comments on the part of boss Potter are anything to go by, then such a development could well be forthcoming as early as this weekend:
‘He has made a positive impression and you can see his qualities. He’s settled in really well and he is ready to play.’
Finally in #PL action this weekend! 🙌
