Google Pixel Watch’s big March update is finally rolling out now

Google usually sends monthly updates to its devices on the first Monday of every month, but for some reason that wasn’t the case this time around. The company has been waiting for the third Monday of the month, but the big Pixel Watch update is finally rolling out today.

It’s the one that supports fall detection, and it was the most hyped new feature, but it’s far from the only one in the changelog. So let’s dive into what’s new.

Even when the Pixel Watch is off because its battery is low, you can still get it to show you the time with just a press of the crown. This will display a digital clock next to the red low battery indicator.

The always-on display can be activated in the settings or in the associated application, as well as by turning the crown. The screen activates when the AOD is off and the display is illuminated in ambient mode. Touchscreen sensitivity has been optimized, one-tap support is now available for Battery Saver, and there are new color correction and grayscale modes in Settings. display.

In the coming weeks, Google will be rolling out an update to the Clock app via the Play Store, which will fix issues with alarms going off too early or too late. The company recommends that you enable auto-update apps in the Play Store so that you get it automatically once available.

The new version ships with the security patch level of March 5, 2023 and the new build number is RWDA.230114.008.J2 in Japan and Taiwan, and RWDA.230114.008.R1 everywhere else.
