Google Fi reportedly ditches US Cellular, leaving T-Mobile as last network

Google Fi, the tech company’s mobile virtual network operator, once based its service on three different carrier networks so subscribers could hop between them in search of the best signal. While that number fell to two after the merger of the T-Mobile and Sprint networks, it is now limited to one after Google dropped US Cellular as the official network.

Google Fi support allegedly told users that US Cellular was leaving last week, according to a Reddit post. Google Fi users can still access US Cellular’s network, but only while roaming, which will still not charge users, a Google representative told 9to5Google.

Nevertheless, the availability of US Cellular will be useful in areas that T-Mobile’s network does not cover.

Neither US Cellular nor Google immediately responded to requests for comment.
