Sequel to Game of Thrones Snow, centered on the popular character of Kit Harington, Jon Snow, is indeed in preparation at HBO. Author George RR Martin confirmed this in his latest blog post, titled “SNOW…and Other Stuff”, and revealed that the actor not only came up with the idea, but also brought his own team of “terrific” writers to work on the scratch series. Martin did not reveal their names as this track has not yet been “cleared for release”. There is no clarity on whether Snow will be coming to series, given that HBO has already scrapped a Thrones spin-off in the past, after filming an entire pilot.

Martin’s blog post read, “Yeah, Kit Harington brought us the idea. I can’t tell you the names of the writers/showrunners, as it hasn’t been cleared for release yet…but Kit brought them in as well, his own team, and they’re great. Kit’s team visited me here in Santa Fe and worked with me and my own team of brilliant and talented writers/consultants to craft the show.

Martin’s comments come days after Emilia Clarke, who played Mother of Dragons and Snow’s aunt Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones, teased this. Snow would pick up where Game of Thrones season 8 left off. However, it’s unclear if she will be part of the Harington-directed series.

Although Martin didn’t provide any clarity on this, he did confirm that three other live-action Game of Thrones series – The Hedge Knight, The sea serpent, and Ten Thousand Ships — are in the works, although there is “no guarantee” that they will eventually arrive on our screens: “These four successive series are still in the script stage. Outlines and treatments were written and approved, scripts were written, notes were given, second and third drafts were written. So far, that’s all.

“That’s how TV works. Please note: Nothing has been greenlit yet, and there’s no guarantee when or if it will be…on any of these shows. The likelihood that the four series to air… well, I would love that, but that’s not how it usually works….Snow has been in development for almost as long as the other three, but for some reason it was never announced and it never leaked…until now.

Martin confirmed Snow and the other series at a time when the Game of Thrones universe is about to expand with the first spin-off series House of the Dragon, which debuts August 21 on HBO and HBO Max wherever it is. available. It will air on August 22 on Disney+ Hotstar in India.
