Leeds United play host to West Ham

Leeds United look to bounce back from a poor start to their Premier League season as they host high flying West Ham this Saturday.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side impressed last campaign, but have struggled thus far in the top flight this time around. Yet to pick up a win from their opening five games (consisting of 3 draws and 2 losses), they sit in 17th place, hovering just above the relegation zone.

They did, however, pick up a victory on penalties in the third round of the Carabao Cup, which has rewarded them with a trip to Arsenal for the fourth round.

West Ham, by contrast, are flying high having taken eight points from their opening games, while knocking out Manchester United of the Carabao Cup last night. With two sides on such a different trajectory, can Leeds turn the tide?

Bamford amongst injury problems leave Leeds threadbare

Such a feat will be made incredibly hard by the number of injury concerns that Leeds are facing at present. The Yorkshire outfit are set to be without Patrick Bamford, Robin Koch and Diego Llorente for the weekend, something which was confirmed by Bielsa in his pre-game press conference.

Meanwhile, Raphinha, Jack Harrison and Luke Ayling are all touch and go ahead of the encounter, while Pascal Struijk remains suspended after his sending off against Liverpool.

This means that it could well be a very different looking Leeds United team fielded against West Ham this weekend.
