The first international break of the 2021/22 season is now less than two weeks away.

The majority of national sides are set to get their break underway on the 2nd of September.

Egypt will be doing exactly this, facing off with Angola on Thursday the 2nd of September in a World Cup qualifier.

They will then face off with Gabon in another World Cup qualifier on the 5th of September.

Liverpool will not allow Salah to go to Egypt

Ahead of the international break, there has been a fair amount of concern regarding Covid-19.

And, on Monday, it has been confirmed that Liverpool will not let Mohamed Salah travel to Egypt during the international break.

Egypt is currently on the red-list in the UK, which means that anyone returning from said country would need to self-isolate for 10 days once back in the UK.

Obviously, this is not ideal for a footballer as he would miss at least one game for his club whilst in isolation – not to mention losing fitness whilst not being able to train properly.

So, it makes sense that Liverpool are not allowing Salah to travel to Egypt for their first qualifier against Angola on September 2nd.

They are, however, as per Goal’s Neil Jones, willing to release Salah for the Gabon game on September 5th as that clash will take place in Gabon, who are currently not on the UK’s red-list:
