Cancelo suspended
As outlined above, though, whilst Manchester City, in the end, got the job done on Saturday, the Citizens latest triumph came at a cost.
This arrived late in proceedings at the Etihad, when Joao Cancelo, of course one of the most in-form players in English football of late, was shown his latest yellow card.
This meant that the Portuguese has now accumulated five bookings to this point in the Premier League campaign.
In turn, in a blow to Pep Guardiola and Fantasy Premier League managers across the globe alike, Cancelo will be forced to sit out City’s upcoming meeting with Leeds United on Tuesday night:
