Rangers bested by Lyon
Rangers got their 2021/22 Europa League group stage campaign up and running on Thursday evening.
The Scottish outfit’s first clash of the group would see them play host to Lyon at Ibrox.
The French side are arguably the toughest side in Rangers’ group this term, but with the clash at home, some form of result was likely needed.
However, when all was said and done, Steve Gerrard’s men came away with a 2-0 loss and now sit bottom of Group A.
Kari Toko Ekambi would open the scoring for Lyon after 23 minutes, with a James Tavernier own goal then making it 2-0 after 53 minutes, and this is how the tie finished.

Sutton aims dig at Rangers
Before the game, former Celtic player turned pundit, Chris Sutton, confirmed via his Twitter account that he was not allowed to work on the Celtic game on Thursday from a studio at Ibrox along with Neil Lennon as the Rangers CEO, Stewart Robertson, said they were a security risk:
I’m not allowed to work on the Celtic game tonight from a studio at Ibrox along with Neil Lennon as Stewart Robertson the Rangers CEO says we are a security risk. Good to see Rangers ground breaking diversity and inclusion campaign ‘Everyone Anyone’ is working well…

This would seemingly prompt Sutton to aim a dig at his old rivals. After the Ranges game against Lyon drew to a close, Sutton took to Twitter to tweet ‘Didn’t miss much.’, seemingly in response to him not being allowed into Ibrox to watch Rangers lose 2-0.
Didn’t miss much.
