Former Ajax man tips Erik Ten Hag for Premier League job, but it isn’t Manchester United
Ten Hag on the move?
Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag is one of the hottest managerial properties in world football right now, having guided his Ajax team to six wins from six in the Champions League group stage, in a group that included both Sporting Lisbon and Borussia Dortmund.

Heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer, will Ten Hag depart?
Well, in a recent interview, he has issued an update on his future, and he seems undecided.
Interviewed by Dutch outlet Volkskrant, Ten Hag was quizzed on his future, and the possibility of moving to a bigger club, and revealed:
“I think I’m ready for it. I would be happy to take up that challenge.”
“But I’m not chasing it. If it turns out that that step will never come, I will not say that my coaching career has failed. But I think I have sufficient competences to take on that challenge.”
However, he was also quick to point out that he remained happy at Ajax, with the report claiming:
Ten Hag leaves no doubt about where his priority currently lies: at Ajax, where he is still ‘happy’. It is quite conceivable that he will talk about contract extension in Amsterdam.
Tipped to succeed, but not at Manchester United
Now, former Ajax coach Aad de Mos has tipped him for success, but not at Manchester United. Speaking to Dutch media, he claimed:
“It must be purely offensive anyway, so the DNA of Ajax must be in it. I think Borussia Dortmund is the ideal option for him. Far from goal and things are not going well now. They have young players and he can bring a few from Ajax. During that period they will also take another step. That would be ideal to be.”
Pressed further, he continued to name three other clubs, including Arsenal, that he feels that Ten Hag would have success with:
“If Nagelsmann leaves, then it will be Bayern Munich. Xavi has only just joined FC Barcelona, Arsenal if Arteta does not do well. Then we are quickly out”
Does this spell bad news for the Manchester United fans clamouring for Ten Hag’s arrival at Old Trafford?
