Five European Transfers you may have missed this week

Five European Transfers you may have missed this week

With less than three weeks left of the transfer window, teams are starting to take shape across Europe.

101 take a look at five European transfers that you may have missed this week.

Edin Dzeko joins Inter Milan

First and foremost, Edin Dzeko has joined Inter Milan on a free transfer, seemingly as a replacement for new Chelsea star Romelu Lukaku.

The 35 year old journeyman joins the club from fellow Serie A side AS Roma, who have since signed Tammy Abraham as his replacement.

The deal is a free transfer in principle, although there is a 1.5 million euro fee to be paid to Roma if Inter qualify for the Champions League.

Inter also sign Denzel Dumfries

Inter Milan have strengthened elsewhere too, confirming the signing of right back Denzel Dumfries from PSV.

The Dutchman, who was strongly linked with a move to Everton this summer, joins the Italian outfit in a deal worth 12.5 million euros plus add-on, as per transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Dumfries impressed at Euro 2020 with the Netherlands, but only time will tell whether this was anything more than a flash in the pan for the youngster.

Sevilla snap up Gonzalo Montiel

Another right-back was on the move this week, in the form of highly-rated but little-known full back Gonzalo Montiel. The Argentine international, who appeared four times at the Copa America, has joined Sevilla from Argentine side River Plate.

As per transfermarkt, the 24-year-old defender has penned a five year deal in southern Spain, with ten million pounds thought to be the fee paid for his services. With current full-back Jesus Navas now 35 years old, Montiel appears to be a very sensible replacement for the veteran.

Matias Vina joins Roma

Meanwhile, Roma have found their replacement for Leandro Spinazzola, who has been ruled out for the season as a result of a snapped achilles tendon that he sustained at Euro 2020.

While they were linked to the likes of Emerson Palmeri, they have instead opted for Uruguayan left-back Matias Vina, who, like Montiel, impressed at the Copa America.

The 23-year-old defender joins the club from Brazilian outfit Palmeiras for an alleged 11.7 million pounds, and will be looking to make a strong impression in a bid to keep Spinazzola out of Jose Mourinho’s side permanently.

Bologna sign Marco Arnautovic

Last but not least, Bologna have finally snapped up free agent Marco Arnautovic. The former Stoke City and West Ham man had his contract terminated by Chinese outfit Shanghai Port after 2 years in Asia, and has returned to Italy to play for Bologna.

Will he fire the Northern side to Europe?
