First look at Chelsea’s rumoured 2012 Champions League anniversary kit leaked online

Images of the rumoured 4th jersey set to be released by Premier League giants Chelsea have come to the fore online on Monday.

A celebratory new look

The shirt in question would, according to the reliable Footy Headlines, be pushed to mark a celebration of one of the Blues’ greatest ever achievements.

This comes in the form of their 2012 Champions League triumph, the club’s first-ever in Europe’s elite club-based competition.

A quality-filled Pensioners squad, overseen by interim manager Roberto Di Matteo, eventually emerged triumphant on penalties, following a tense 120-minute spectacle versus Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich.

In turn, as per Footy Headlines, a 10-year anniversary kit now appears to be in the pipeline.

Though Nike are yet to confirm plans for the jersey, which would mark a 4th in West London this season, a release date of January 2022 has been touted.

The design is expected to take on the colours showcased below, boasting a considerably darker blue than fans of the Pensioners have become accustomed to:

A mocked-up image of the jersey’s predicted design, albeit featuring a more royal blue colour, was released by FH earlier this year.

Blues cruise

Back on the pitch, Chelsea of course got their 2021/22 Premier League campaign underway this past weekend.

The capital giants welcomed Crystal Palace to Stamford Bridge, with hopes of building on a UEFA Super Cup downing of Villarreal earlier in the week.

And, when all was said and done in West London, this is precisely what the hosts managed.

Goals from all of Marcos Alonso, Christian Pulisic and league debutant Trevoh Chalobah ultimately guided Thomas Tuchel’s men to a comfortable 3-0 victory.
