Salah speaks on Liverpool future

The headline news in the footballing world on Friday surrounded Liverpool and Egypt star, Mohamed Salah.

Salah’s contract at Liverpool has been speculated on for several months now. Liverpool have tied a number of their biggest players to fresh deals over the last year or so, including Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho, Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, Jordan Henderson and Nat Phillips. But Salah’s current deal still only runs until 2023.

Then, on Friday, Salah would finally speak out on his Liverpool future, stating:

“If you ask me, I would love to stay until the last day of my football career, but I can’t say much about that – it’s not in my hands.’

“It depends on what the club want, not on me. At the moment I can’t see myself ever playing against Liverpool. That would make me sad. It’s hard, I don’t want to talk about it, but it would make me really sad.”

Fans split over Salah contract demands

From Salah’s quotes above, he appears to be suggesting that it is not up to him if he stays, especially the line about it not being in his hands.

However, though he expresses his love for Liverpool, Salah appears to be simply waiting for his rather large contract demands to be met.

Those demands are reported to be £400,000-per-week:

Said demands do not seem that bad given that Salah is currently perhaps the best player in the world right now.

However, as shown in the tweets below, fans are somewhat split on whether or not Salah’s reported demands should be met:
